International Open University (IOU)

The International Open University (IOU) is an accredited university that offers online master’s, bachelor’s, and certificate courses in Islamic Studies, the Quran, and the Arabic language, among other programs. The IOU was founded by Shaykh Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips, a well-known Islamic scholar and speaker, and is headquartered in The Gambia. The National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority (NAQAA) approved IOU to operate as a higher education institution in The Gambia for four years starting on February 23, 2023. Before this, NAQAA granted a three-year provisional license in April 2019 and extended it in 2022. IOU aims to provide affordable, quality education to students worldwide. Its mission is to enhance the Muslim community and the world through education based on Islamic values.

Islamic University of Madinah

The Islamic University of Madinah (IU) is an accredited, globally diverse university in Saudi Arabia located near Wadi al‑Aqeeq about 10 km from the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, is an international institution that unites Islamic Sharia studies with modern scientific disciplines, emphasizing excellence, inclusivity, and community impact. The university hosts students from over 170 nationalities speaking more than 50 languages, offers scholarships for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral studies to residents and international students, and provides a broad academic portfolio of more than 1,004 courses across 9 colleges serving roughly 17,873 students. Its diversity is celebrated by Guinness World Records, and its alumni include notable leaders and scholars who have advanced education and public service in countries such as Malaysia, the Maldives, and Senegal.

The IU holds unconditional institutional accreditation and programmatic accreditation across 24 programs, with Computing and Engineering recognized by ABET.

IQRA Network

Kindergarten to High School

IQRA Network is an accredited online platform for learning the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies for students from kindergarten to high school. Over 200 tutors from around the world teach the courses. It was founded in 2017 by three fathers: an MIT research scientist, a Tufts University educator, and a Sheikh from Al-Azhar University, and is located in Massachusetts, USA. The curriculum is officially accredited by Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Issa Al-Masrawy, the Sheikh of the former Egyptian Al-Muqari and a Professor of Hadith at Al-Azhar University.
