The Fundamental Contrast
Both humans and Allah SWT claim to possess things using the word “mine,” yet these claims operate on entirely different planes of reality. While there are countless differences between these two forms of ownership, several key distinctions emerge when examined closely.
The Limitations of Human Ownership
Borrowed Foundation
The human mind operates within extremely narrow confines, able to grasp only a handful of things at any given time. Even these limited possessions are not truly created by humans but merely modified from existing forms. The knowledge used in these modifications cannot be claimed as “mine” by humans – it is either “given” or “gained” from sources beyond human creation.
The Empty-Handed Journey
Humans arrive in this world completely empty-handed, bringing nothing with them at birth. They enter in a state of total dependence, requiring the assistance of other human beings – parents, relatives, medical practitioners, caregivers, and countless others – simply to survive and function.
When humans depart from this world, they take nothing with them that they claimed as “mine” during their earthly existence. All material possessions remain within the atmospheric ecosystem of this gravitational material world. These belongings are either taken by other humans or disposed of if deemed unusable.
What Transcends the Material Realm
Only two elements accompany the human beyond the material world: the rooh (soul) and the deeds that the rooh performed during its earthly journey. Everything else – every material possession ever claimed – remains bound within the physical ecosystem.
The Absolute Nature of Divine Ownership
Unlimited Scope
When Allah SWT declares something as “mine,” this claim encompasses humans themselves along with everything else. His ownership extends to the unlimited, the never-ending, the never-ceasing in His capacity. This includes everything that humans know, can know, or will never know – knowledge that remains exclusively within Allah SWT’s domain.
Unassailable Authority
No one can take away anything from Allah SWT. No one can make demands upon Him. No one can exercise control over His authority. He stands as the Ultimate owner, the Ultimate authority, the ultimate possessor of both material and non-material things.
Universal Dominion
Allah SWT’s ownership includes the rooh of humans, jinns, and angels – every single soul across the entire universe ecosystem. His dominion extends beyond human comprehension, encompassing realities that transcend the boundaries of possible human understanding.
Acknowledgment of Limitations
Our presentation of these concepts itself may contain errors, as human understanding remains finite when attempting to grasp infinite realities. The very tools of language and conceptual thinking that humans use to explore these ideas are themselves limited and contingent upon divine creation.
